GOAT CAMP

Every agricultural activity has its peak moments, and for us it is the harvesting of our cashmere crop in the spring

Each goat is individually hand-combed to remove all of the precious undercoat of cashmere that has kept it warm over the winter, and that is shed as the weather becomes warmer. This is an all-day, every-day job from the beginning of March through as late as June, depending on the weather

if you like to roll up your sleeves and get dirty, you can come in the spring for goat combing: this is the busiest time of the yar, when we harvest the precious cahmere fiber from our 200+ goats, and you can actually help!

For SPINNERS: come and stay at our farm and help us to comb the goats in the spring (April, May, June). This really is a unique experience, and you are welcome to take home the raw fiber that you manage to comb while you're here - we give you the goat and the comb and you provide the elbow grease!!!!

We suggest a camera to immortalize the fun - you will be the envy of all your friends back home!

We start at 9 am, comb all morning and then have lunch together - over the years we have had people from all over the world come to join us, so put this one on your bucket list for sure!
