Bought in 1972 by the current ex-pat New York owner, restoration of the original buildings has been on-going, with an eye to maintaining the original rustic character while making it as a comfortable home-away-from-home as possible.

KITCHEN, DINING, DOUBLE BEDROOM, BATH

During restoration, the original chestnut beams were sanded and re-utilized; the original hand-made Tuscan brick floor tiles (some 6 inches thick) were removed and re-laid. This former stable (now a complete kitchen and indoor dining area) now opens out onto a pergola for 'al fresco' meals, with a heavy plank table and comfortable chairs + barbecue, overlooking the 6 x 12 meter pool.
This is undoubtedly where you will be spending most of your 'relax' time: a place to meet after your day as a tourist, after a dip in the pool, this western view is the best place to enjoy the sunset dipping down over the 'perfect' Tuscan landscape.
Ours is truly a magnificant view - undulating hills, vineyards, woods and unplowed fields.....and thanks to stringent building regulations, no modern buildings in sight, nor will there ever be; a difficult table to get up from!
The kitchen is comfortably decorated and functional: fridge, sink, burners and oven are built into the wooden cabinets. Due to lack of space there is no dish washer. The dining area is separated by the original brick arch from the kitchen area and is furnished with an oval wooden table and comfortable wooden chairs that can accomodate up to 6 people.
From the dining area a corridor leads past a small bedroom with double bed, with iron bedstead, and a complete bath with shower, WC, sink and bidet + storage We are currently redecorating so new pix will be up shortly
The downstairs comunicates with the upper floor via a wooden and steel staircase which is NOT SUITABLE for toddlers

ALL WINDOWS ARE SCREENED FOR YOUR COMFORT / FREE WIFI / NO DISHWASHER / NO TV / WOOD-BURNING STOVE IN THE CHILLY WEATHER
