Our Handwoven and HandKnitted Products

When the first Cashmere goats arrived at La Pensiola in 1995 it was not immediately clear just how very much there was to learn, to experiment and to invest in creating a finished, hand-made cashmere creation starting with no more than a handful of fluffy fiber hand-combed in the spring. 

Trial and error, months spent  searching out artisans, down endless country roads, through mazes of hilltop villages,  unearthing and discovering not just 'ordinary' people, but  ARTISTS weaving and creating wondrous textiles, industrious hand-crafters making one-of-a-kind 'art'.

!7 years of passion and creativity have gone by, and one of the real pleasures of what we do is just that:  watch a baby goat being born, and follow it all the way through to its first production of Cashmere fiber and on to a handmade finished product - it's pretty damn exciting!

2011 will mark the culmination of several years' work to create a complete line of hand-woven, hand-knitted or hand-sewn accessories and home furnishings ranging from skeins of our own 100% SUSTAINABLE CASHMERE Yarn and patterns to go with them, to hand-knitted scarves, hand-woven shawls, belts, scarves, earrings, necklaces, throws, pillows, and curtains.  We sell ready-made and custom-made to match you decor

We collaborate with several weavers, each with her own loom and personal style; beginning in 2011 we are also working with a number of eclectic hand-knitters.

Our creations are all one of a kind, everything is Made in Tuscany, and most interestingly (for us, at least) is that ALL OF THE FIBERS used in our hand-crafted products are NATURAL, RENEWABLE RESOURCES:  our own SUSTAINABLE CASHMERE®, 100% Italian Sheep's Wool, Italian Linen and Italian Hemp.  Not only do we know all the shepherds and herders and growers who supply us with their fiber, we are careful to document every step of the transformation process so that we can garantee the utmost quality and total traceability of everyting we sell

All of our production can be bought in our farm shop in Italy, and by the end of August you wil be able to choose from our new autumn collections - as they arrive we are up-loading the photos, and you wull be able to buy directlyhere in our gift shop in Tusany or order on-line and have us ship to y if you can't make it this time around!  Try taking a look, too at our ADOPT A KID page - this is an entertaining way to give an unusual surprise to someone you care about, and then THEY can choose there own gift!  Below is only a small sampling of this year's production
