ADOPT A KID AT A DISTANCE

For those of you who've always wanted a baby goat but live in the city; for those of you who don't live in the city but are intrigued by goats who live in the country; for anyone who doesn't know a goat from a sheep (or a kid from a lamb) but would like to; for goat-lovers who'd rather keep their goats at a distance; for anybody who thinks having a Cashmere goat is neat; for the multitude of people who have visited our farm and said ''Oh, I'd love to have a baby goat''! 

Looking for an unusual gift for a friend/relative/girlfriend/neighbor's kid/significant other, neighbor, that animal-crazy friend? Do you need to think of an original gift for a first Comunion, Bar-Mitzvah, birthday or anniversary?  A pregnant mom who can choose her gift from our new line of hand-knit baby clothes at Christmas??

Newborn kids are perhaps some of the most beguiling newborns you'll find:  they are on their feet within 20 minutes of birth, dried off promptly by mom, and ready to nurse.  Unlike many newborns, baby kids are true miniatures of their adult versions (minus the horns, which grow in later):  fluffy, curious, mischevious and agile, ready to leap and cavort by day two.  Their new-born hooves are porelain white and their eyes a bluish-grey.  They beg to be hugged


ADOPT A KID FOR THEM - THEY WILL RECEIVE THE ADOPTION CERTIFICATE AT HOME AND WILL BE ABLE TO CHOOSE THE GIFT OF THEIR CHOICE; read below to choose your baby goat and give him or her a name!

Increasingly, people sensitive to the issues of animal welfare, environmental sustainability and ethical agricultural practices are taking this chance to 'Adopt' a Cashmere kid:  this is your opportunity to support livestock production that puts the animals first.  

For a yearly cost of 100 Euros you can adopt your kid from our photo gallery, choose his or her name, and in exchange receive a gift of ANY of our products:  Sustainable Cashmere yarn, hand-knitted or hand-woven scarf, shawl, throw or any other product available in our shop (or ordered on-line) of equal retail value, to be shipped to the address you indicate.

Over the course of the year you will receive regular 'progress reports' about your kid and activities on our farm.  We can offer you this opportunity because our kids are born and raised to live a long and productive life - some of our older goats are over 15 years old and still producing fiber and kids year after year! 

By adoptiing one or more kids you are helping us maintain the animals on our farm and expand our livestock practices to others.  Animal well-being CAN be economcally sustainable; we have shown it is possibile and want to get the word out to others!  In the photos below you can see some of our kids born this spring with their mothers.  Click on the following link to visualize the adoption contract and to choose YOUR kid; newborns are identified with a cronological number and at the age of three months permanent ear tags are applied

We are currenty registering all of this year's kids - there are almost 100, so it takes a while; beginning after Easter we will be posting our new 2013 babies daily!
